Personal memory by Lieve Ohm

The Lutkemeerpolder is an area west of Amsterdam, where the last fertile peat soil of the city remains. Activists and local farmers have been defending the existence of the soil in the face of the expansion plans of a distribution center. Economic gains are the argument for this expansion, but researchers showed the controversies in these plans. The defenders of the soil are slowly winning ground (literally), but losing more and more fertile soil under the weight of construction sand. The movie "MEER" by Bart Melief depicts the situation, and the grief that comes with this struggle.
