1993 • Lake Titicaca, Peru
I asked an old woman walking up the trail to the center plaza. She pointed to the harbor, where the water level used to be 4-5 feet higher — the water line was noticeably lower. The distance we had to walk to get to the shore line was considerable. The lake bed was cracked. We passed by some houses and I paced out about 2000 feet to the water.
