The Extinction Of The Elephant's Footprints.

During my middle school years, I attended a boarding school deep within a vast forest, nearly 40 miles from the nearest city. Every so often, we would wake up to fresh elephant footprints, and occasionally catch sight of the animals themselves. Over time, however, these encounters became increasingly rare. By the time I graduated, the footprints had all but disappeared. I later learned that widespread poaching had driven many of the elephants from the area. This was how the footprints came to extinction.
