My elementary school used to have a butterfly garden in front of it. We'd go out there for science lessons, and they taught us about butterfly migration. They told us why these gardens were so important and encouraged us to plant our own. I went back to the town for a visit, and when I drove by the school, the garden was gone. Not replaced by anything, not dead or uncared for. It was simply gone, with no trace of it anymore.
