Perfect Pond Now A Lame Lake

Personal memory by Lucas camilo

When I was a kid, there was a pond in my neighborhood, families would go there every weekend (or weekday if it was warm enough) and swim, play, and relax. The pond itself was gorgeous crystal clear water stretching for 2 miles, the surrounding banks were abundant with life; herons, ducks, geese, turtles, etc. Then the town turned it into a resevoir, from then on the animals left and the people weren't allowed to swim there. As I jogged on the path that surrounded the pond, I grew a little sad to see the concrete and pipes running through the once beautiful lake.
