Mastodon Extinct

circa 10,000 BCEGlobal

The mastodon lived from about 3.7 million years ago until its extinction about 10,000 BC and inhabited Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and Central America. The American mastodon ranged from Alaska to Florida. Its extinction is presumably due to climate change and Paleo-Indian hunting.
