Frog Pond

Growing up in the late 1980's there was a wooded area that circled the neighborhood I grew up in. There was a creek full of fish, frogs and insects to try and catch. Vines hung from the trees so we could play Tarzan and deer, rabbits and other small mammals were often spotted if one was quiet. Further back in our woods was and area we call “frog pond” it was not really a pond, more like a large puddle that filled every spring when the creek flooded and would hold water until early to mid-summer. As you may guess, it was always full of frogs. Today most of the surrounding woods are gone, for more houses and businesses, and our little pond is still there, but the water is gone and so are the frogs.
