Personal memory by Katherine Donaldson
2005 • Delaware, USA
When I was younger, I often went canoeing, boating, or swimming in the rivers and creeks of Delaware. When we went fishing, we never kept the fish. There were signs posted everywhere recommending that you can't eat more than one fish from that water every year due to the amount of chemicals in the water. The Delaware River is the 5th most polluted river in America, and Delaware has the second highest amount of cancer patients out of every state.
