Personal memory by Jai Desai

Warm evening nights used to invite the lazy dance of fireflies across my backyard, illuminating the trees in the humid air. Over time, the fireflies dance became an increasingly rare site, less and less of those little lanterns dancing in the sticky, summer air. I call it the dimming of the fireflies, and I never expected that this core memory of my childhood in New Jersey would be extinguished so quickly in my lifetime.
