Sometimes I see a couple of deer in the forest near where I grew up. I thought this was normal. Once, while visiting my grandma in B.C., we saw four deer. I was amazed that so many were together. She looked at me and said that when she was growing up in 1950s and '60s, there were so many deer they would fill the fields near her house.
