Like many turtles in Asia this species is intensely hunted for its meat Asian's freshwater turtles are literally being eaten out of existence with 3/4 of the species now listed as threatened and over half considered endangered please give these species a chance to recover before it is too late don't eat them.

• Support habitat protection and wetland restoration projects that safeguard the species’ remaining wild populations.
