Broad-faced Potoroo

Extinct circa 1875 CEAustralia

"John Gilbert also collected another Potoroo from [King George's Sound] . . . The Broad-faced Potoroo was already scarce at that time . . . The natives of Margaret River described it as a slow-moving creature, easily caught, and blamed its disappearance on cats and on bush-fires started by the colonists . . . [T]he last known specimen was taken in 1908."
