I recall daily calls of "Bob White! Bob White!" in my neighborhood on Cape Cod, MA. It was the call of the quail as they foraged in the woods. It was always a delight to see their round plump bodies appear amidst the tall grasses. I have sadly not heard "Bob White" in over 30 years.
